Now You Have a Choice

Vote for Dr. Joseph Spears, Delegate, District 27A

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Maryland Now Gets to Choose

Dr. Joseph Spears says Prince George’s County and Charles County haven’t benefited and deserve better.

(PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Maryland) – Maryland District 27A voters will now get a chance to choose when they go to the polls less than a year from now. And if previous indicators are correct, voters in southern Prince George’s County and parts of Charles County will select a person who represents the best choice for residents who say they have not fully benefited from new job opportunities, educational opportunities, business opportunities, health care, environmental improvement and farming opportunities.

“Residents in Prince George’s County and Charles County represent some of the best people you will ever meet. I’ve walked with, talked with, prayed with, laughed with and cried with these people and let me tell you, they represent the best in Maryland, the best in America, and the best in all of us,” Dr. Joseph Spears said. “This is why I am running for office. Because the people in Clinton, Brandywine, Accokeek, Waldorf, Cedarville, Baden, Aquasco and Hughesville deserve a choice they’ve not recently had. They deserve better.”

The “choice” Spears is referring to is the selection of the Maryland state house delegate for District 27A. The person who currently holds the delegate seat was placed there when her husband died while he was in office. Voters were not given an opportunity to select their own delegate.

“But that all changes next year when voters will finally get to choose their own representative,” Spears said. “District 27A represents one of the most diverse parts of Maryland. The person who is selected by the people to become their delegate must be diverse and inclusive on every level. This is why I want to become the next delegate.”

District 27A is comprised of southern Prince George’s County and parts of Charles County. More specifically, the area includes: Clinton, Brandywine, Accokeek, Waldorf, Cedarville, Baden, Aquasco and Hughesville.

“A familiar name and a lot of money doesn’t necessarily mean you are getting the best person for the job,” Spears said. “We’ve all had plenty of that in this country and, quite frankly, it’s hasn’t gotten us very far, has it.”
